I'm very proud of what my past students have accomplished. It has been a real pleasure to see them overcome their obstacles and achieve their goals. Here is some of their feedback:
Diane, mother of Emma: A-Level, Foundation and BA Illustration student, 2016 - present
"I would recommend Lucy as a tutor without the slightest hesitation. Not only is she totally professional and reliable, but her kind, gentle approach has encouraged my daughter to produce her very best work.
My daughter is always very keen to go along to the sessions, which she finds
stimulating and exciting.
Lucy goes beyond the traditional role of a tutor, by providing thorough feedback after each session, and she is always on the lookout for exhibitions, events and other sources of inspiration which may be of interest to my daughter.
As a result, my daughter’s appetite for art and her self-confidence have increased considerably."
Mayya, Fashion BA, University of the Arts, London
"It is my pleasure to recommend Lucy as a tutor. Lucy and I held tutorials for about 3-4 months during my BA dissertation in 2013-14.
Lucy was very helpful and organized during our work together. She provided honest and constructive feedback. Her knowledge and experience will be invaluable to anyone who is working with her. She responded quickly and helped me improve my work.
She is a lovely person to work with, and she helped me accomplish all my tasks, taking great initiative and with a positive attitude.
I have never been much of a writer, but in the end, I got a 65% grade for my dissertation, which is a 2.1, and my final degree was 1st class. I would not have achieved this without Lucy's tutoring and guidance."
Mayya went on to study Fashion (Menswear) at the Royal College of Art in London. I worked with her again during this time, to help with her dissertation. She did extremely well, as a student with English as a second language, in a highly creative, challenging and competitive subject.
Dr. Liu, mother of A-Level Art and Design student, London
"Lucy was tutoring my daughter throughout 2012. She is a very responsible, reliable and caring person.
She is very patient, and does things from the heart with her students.
She also brought her own art tools to help my daughter. My daughter liked her very much.
My daughter is now attending Central St. Martins. We thank Lucy for all her help, and I highly recommend her."
Holly, A-Level student, London
"We employed Lucy as a tutor at the beginning of my AS year at secondary school, when I was really struggling with the jump from GCSE to A level. As a result, I felt really disillusioned with art and needed extra help with organising ideas and getting inspiration.
After finding Lucy on Blue Tutors she came to my house regularly for two hour sessions. I immediately began to feel excited about art again, thanks to the abundance of useful materials and research that Lucy brought with her, books that we discussed and new techniques that we tried. What I found to be really helpful was the fact that Lucy talked me through my ideas, helping me to create my own instead of spoon feeding me for the sake of producing appropriate work. What’s more, Lucy always created a relaxed atmosphere in our sessions and was always positive in her approach.
As well as helping with coursework she also helped me with my exam preparations and was happy for me to get in contact if I had any queries. Through her guidance I was able to produce pieces that went beyond my original ideas and expectations. Thanks to her help I regained my confidence and ended up getting an A* 100% in my art a-level.
When I decided to continue on to do an art foundation course, Lucy spent time with me putting together my portfolio- something I had no experience of and no help from school with. As a result I was accepted onto my course of choice.
I would thoroughly recommend Lucy as a tutor, she really helped me through a difficult time with art and through her help and guidance I have been able to get onto a course that I love."
